It was a pleasure to be back at St. John Baptist Church for the third time in 10 months to photograph a wedding last weekend. It was the wedding of LaTasia and Taj who came all the way from Atlanta to get married in front of family and friends in Columbia. The reception was at Saluda Shoals River Center where the wedding party was chased by a protective blue jay. Not quite like a scene from “Birds” but crazy none the less!

I was very happy when I got an e-mail from the editor at Carolina Bride Magazine saying they’d like to do a feature story on two of my recent weddings. Check out the latest issue of Carolina Bride, Summer/Fall 2010 issue, to see the feature story on sisters, DeAnna and Ashley Lewis’ weddings.

I photographed DeAnna’s wedding in December 2009 and Ashley’s wedding in May 2010. The whole Lewis family is wonderful to work with, and I look forward to photographing the youngest Lewis daughter’s wedding someday. Her dad says it won’t be any time soon!

Anne-Kathryn Flanagan did a wonderful job interviewing the sisters and writing the story. And of course, the story features lots of images shot by me during the weddings. Congrats to Ashley and John! I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding at St. John Baptist Church in Columbia and reception at the Columbia Museum of Art on May 1st. It felt a little like “DejaVu” since I had just photographed Ashley’s sister, DeAnna’s wedding at St. John’s in December. Love this family… they’re so nice and great to work with! Congratulations to DeAnna and Cory following their December 5th wedding at St. John Baptist Church in Columbia.

This is my favorite time of the year for weddings, with churches decorated for Christmas— love it!

DeAnna and Cory had a wonderful reception at Tronco’s Medallion Center, with everything all decked out for the Christmas season.
