I got to meet little seven week old Ansley last week and do a newborn portrait session with her. She’s a doll baby, for sure! Looks like she’s going to grow up to be as beautiful as her mom, Emmy. I don’t always post newborn sessions, but wanted to post some images from this one because of the hand knitted baby cacoon I was trying out. It was made and sent to me by Michele Chisholm in Lexington who found my blog by chance just days before I booked the wedding of one of her friend’s daughters. Maternity Portraits

Their baby is due very soon, so I’m looking forward to photographing the little one while he’s a tiny weeny newborn. Hint, hint, Lisa!!

HP baby portraits in NICU!

Some of you may know that Hallman Photography not only does weddings and portraits, but we have a contract with Baptist Hospital in Columbia and offer newborn portraits to parents there. We do in-room portrait sessions, usually the day after babies are born at Baptist. We were asked to do some inspirational portraits for the brand new NICU at Baptist Hosptal and some of those are now hanging in the NICU hallways. Originally, the portraits were to be hung one in each of the 17 private NICU rooms, but they decided the hallways would be a better area to display them, and I completely agree.

All of the babies featured belong to nurses or staff at Baptist Hospital, or were born at Baptist.

Here’s a little glimpse of the portraits I created for this project…

We hope to have more portraits going up in the NICU and Birthplace hallways at Baptist Hospital soon.
