This was a rough week with me getting two phone calls within two days letting me know of the all too soon passing of two of my past clients. First came a call from Scott letting me know his bride, Katie, passed away suddenly on Thanksgiving Day from lung cancer. She has just gotten her diagnosis ten weeks earlier and was hopeful and optimistic for a cure. It was heartbreaking getting that call. I photographed Scott and Katie’s engagement session in July 2013 and remember it well.
Then just two days later, I got a call from Joy, Maid of Honor from Clarissa and Ricardo’s October 5th wedding just weeks ago. She told me that Clarissa had unexpectedly passed away after a medical procedure this week. Again, I was just heartbroken. I’m so sad for Ricardo who has lost his bride just barely two months after their wedding day. I feel crushed for Vivian, Clarissa’s mom, who has lost her daughter. I can’t imagine their pain. I pray that the my photos from the engagement and bridal sessions, and the wedding will help them remember Clarissa’s beautiful smile and her amazing spirit.
I’ll always remember these two wonderful women, and send my love to their families.
Well, I’ve been really slack about posting engagement photos to my blog, so here are some peeks at some engagement sessions from the past several months!
If you’ve never seen The River Road and The Jasmine House and are planning a wedding, you should check it out. They’ve made some fantastic changes and additions lately and it’s become one of my favorite wedding venues in the Columbia area. Sarah Christmus and the staff are wonderful to work with there, too.
Here’s a little bit from Kelly and Zach’s recent wedding at The River Road and The Jasmine House….
